Wonder if anyone else has this problem...

I downloaded software from Denon/Aktis for RC-8000 that came with my AVR-5800. Ran the updater as they told me. (I didn't have any custom programming in it yet, so nothing to lose.) I customized the remote commands a bit. Then I "uploaded from RC-8000" (does this seem backwards? -- "downloaded from" and "upload to" make more sense) my configuration and was able to save it. Good. Made some adjustments in the RCEditor software. Now I try to send the configuration back to the remote. It hangs at 99%!! Every time! What kind of crap software is this?

I know there have been other comments in other threads about the relative (lack of) merits of the Aktis software, but come on? A software hang? I end up killing it with Windows Task Manager. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this. The updater in the beginning went just fine with no hiccups. So far, it looks like even though it hangs, and I kill the program, the remote still gets the changes I made, but this doesn't look good.

Just a quick poll...

You are right, it is total crap! However, if you wait a few seconds after the download reaches 99% and then just unplug the remote from the USB cable, your new program will take. You will however still get the warning message about unplugging/ejecting a device, but don't worry, just click ok and you're done.
