I just got a RCA RCU810 remote. I need a code that will work my Carver CD-multi-player SD/A 390t. The supplied codes don't work, and others found on the net return a "NOT FOUND" message. Learning is not an option, because I don't have the original remote. RCA's help line, by the way, cut me off twice after going through voice-mail-hell. If I can't get this to work, the remote goes back... I did find some .cml and .ccf files on the net that say they pertain to my Carver, but I have no idea what they're for or how to use them. Pardon the lack of brevity, but I'm a newbie & could use some help, here. Thanks very much! Glenn

Just FYI, the RCU810 is made by the same company that makes One For All and Radio Shack remotes, so it uses the same device code library, excpet that all the codes are 17 higher.

It looks like the code you need is CD/0194 (which would be CD/0211 in the RCA) but that is NOT FOUND, but I have found a similar code that might give you some functionality, which is VCR/0045 (or VCR/0062 in the RCA) although it only looks like the 1-9 numeric keys are in the right place.

If the number buttons work, but nothing else, you might want to consider getting the 15-1994 ($30 from Radio Shack) as it does have the CD/0194 code.

Thanks for the feedback. I opted to return the RCA & buy a fancier remote for the same price from another store. Their remote worked.

OK, I'm curious. What remote is fancier than the RCU-810 and available at the same price?

... and I bet the "fancy" remote doesn't do as much as the 15-1994! :)

I ended up with a "Home Theatermaster 9000." It has the codes, but it cost an arm & a leg!

The SL9000's got tons of learning memory and a good library of device codes, but for $100 I would expect to have transport keys AND arrow keys!
