My friend has this universal remote made by RCA that as near as I can tell has no model number to be found. The closest I can find is on the back of the remote control battery faceplate which says 97P04730-# 1 and I can not figure out how to program it! Every place I've visited says "Press and hold Code Search" etc, etc. But on this remote there is no such button! It somewhat resembles the RCU500 but only slightly. Can any one solve this mystery? I'd be extremely grateful and provide you with any additional information you might need.

Thanks
Jason

You have to hold the device key down that you want to control & then enter the 3 number code for each item that you want to control. Look on this forum & you will find the codes for RCA remotes. Hope this helps you out!

I'm getting extremely frustrated. I've tried every code I've found as a result of my combing through the Net. None have worked. I have an RCA universal, relatively new (came with our TV), and I'm trying to program a JVC DVD player. The codes in the booklet (for TV's and VCR's...there are no codes for JVC DVD's) are 4-digit, and everyone suggests 3 digit codes....HELP!!

I'm pretty sure if the remote came with the tv even though it is a universal remote it will only work other brands of vcr's & cable boxes. The only dvd players & etc that it will work are Proscan, RCA & GE products that are all made by Thomson Electronics.

I am trying to program my Panasonic DSS reciever with what I believe is the same type remote that Jason G. is talking about.. I have tried 10 different codes that I have found on the web, and no such luck. I hold down the DSS button while typing in the codes that I have found. I am not having ANY luck. any suggestions?? If I go to the store and buy a different brand will I have better luck? This remote is the one that came with the TV, and I do not have the book for it.

Sometimes there just isn't a code for every device in the remote, if the remote in question came with a TV or something, it's probably not one of the best universals on the market.

It might be time to get a good universal, I would recommend something like the One For All Cinema 7 or the Radio Shack 15-1994, both sell for between $25 and $30 and have a good selection of device codes. There's also the new RCA RCU810 that sells for about $50, which is worth checking out, it has Replay and TiVo codes too!

After I activate PIP in TV mode, nothing I do de-activates PIP. The PIP screen on the bottom right
corner of the TV screen remains forever, even after I
turn off the TV and turn in back on again. How
do I make it go away ????? HELP!!
