This is a little off the beaten path...but i'm trying to locate a device that would receive B&O remote commands and translate it into say... Sony commands. (this customer really likes the look of the B&O remote)
Any thoughts or suggestions would really be a big help.

Don't think that's going to happen... but there's lots of other good remotes out there. :-)

I'm pretty sure you could use a Xantech 455khz downconverting infrared receiver and an Ocelot to do this if you really wanted to.

Uhm... see if you can cram the guts of any good universal remote into the B&O case.

Actually, can you be more specific about what it is your customer likes about the B&O remote? Button arrangement, look, feel, weight, what? Perhaps we can point you to a universal with similar qualities.

I've jsut posted a thread asking if anyone was interested in doing just this. I've ordered an Ocelot controller, a Xantech MS455 and Xantech 780-455 to experiment to see if I can use the B&O remote for every peice of kit I have (the really good thing about the Ocelot is that it can also control X-10,

What I am hoping is that the BEO4 remote (you probably wouldn't be able to use any other as it is the first with 'soft' keys in the LIST button) assigns a different frequency or sequence to each of the LIST soft buttons - I think it does do this for all of the number buttons, the MENU, STOP and EXIT buttons. As it stands, I have ordered the kit and will pass on my results.
