I am an owner of a Philips Nino 320, having decided to purchase it over the PalmPilots. Now I come to see that the PalmPilots are usable as universal remotes (with a piece of hardware, I think?), and I'm wondering if there is the same thing available for the Philips Nino. After all, why the heck would I want to spend a lot of $$$ for a remote control when I could do it with my Nino? Any info out there would be great.

Just a note to the above:
There is a product called OmniRemote for Palm machines that doesn't require (but can be used with) additional IR hardware. Check out www.pacificneotek.com where they have a demo version for download.

They do not support WinCE, nor do I know of anyone who does, but I can't see, offhand, why a similar thing can't be done for WinCE.

There is a software for WinCE which turns your Handheld into a RemoteControl: SkyCommander

I have heard that some Hewlett-Packard calculators can be programmed to act as remotes, using the IR emitter at the back of their case, which is normally used for a printer. I think that this only requires software, but I am not certain.
