Hi all, I've just bought the UCommand 525 (AKA Cambridge Audio M700 in the UK), and am having MAJOR problems trying to map my Harman Kardon AVR4500 Input selectors to it. Has anyone managed to do this?? If not am I going to have to go out and buy a ProntoNeo?? (Not such a hardship if I do!) Thanks to anyone with advice Tony

Looking to buy a SIMA SUR-20. First is the customer support as good as Crisp Solutions? And will this remote work with my Dish Network receiver? Thanks for the help. Any additional info would be great.

I just bought a UC515 (branded as e-Pilot) on eBay in the UK. The seller says it worked fine when he sent it but I cannot get the LEARN, DELETE or MACRO buttons to do anything. I hold any of them for 3 seconds plus but the 'setup' screen does not appear. I've tried resetting to factory settings - that seems to work OK, ie I get the 'setup' screen and the beeps. Have I missed something or is it a serious fault? If it's a fault how can I get it fixed?

I know the UC515 (branded as e-Pilot) is recognised as working with the Sky Digital satellite boxes, but mine only responds to every other key press. That is to send a command I have to press each button twice. When I look at the IR output on a 'scope the first press sends a signal with three short spikes, the second press sends four short spikes. The original Sky remote always sends four short spikes, so that's the pattern I need. How can I force the UC515 to send only the four short spikes? I've tried long and short button presses, and multiple button presses in the learning mode. All other devices work fine, it's so frustating.

Hi, I bought an E-Pilot SRC-9200 on Saturday, and am so far having no real luck with my Sky digibox. It accepted the codes from teh generic sky remote without any issues, but when trying to use it, I have to press each button twice in quick succession to get the box to respond. I tried setting up macros to do this, but that ended up with a button press taking a long time, and then the box reacting as if the button had been pressed 4 times. Anyone got any suggestions on how I could get this working better?

If it's a fault how can I get it fixed? The first E-Pilot SRC-9200 I got from Maplin had a fault. It continuously stated that the batteries were low when they were brand new. It seems that when the battery low indicator is showing, the remote refuses to do any learning etc. Hope this helps.

Bought a E-Pilot SRC-9200 a few days ago. But the whole right hand side of the panel doesnt work. Taken it apart and put it together again, and it worked for about 5 minutes. I thought I'd fixed it, but now its the same as it was before. What could be the problem inside the unit? how could i fix it? Thanks, James

Does anyone no whether this is to do with parity bits ??( [Link: remotecentral.com]) I have a Grundig model digibox (don't know the number will check when at home). The parity idea is something I will try to investigate. I have recently purchased a ProntoNeo which is a wonderful remote but about 90 quid more expensive than the E-Pilot. We got another E-Pilot in the house yesterday, and I have been trying to use the Neo to work out what is wrong with the codes sent by the E-Pilot. I make the E-Pilot learn a button off the Neo, and then make the Neo relearn it back from the E-Pilot. Using NEOHacker (available from this site) I can compare the codes being sent, and there are quite a few differences. The good codes learnt from the Sky remote. 0 f 6c 4 67 b7 f 10 20 5f 3f 5f bc 2e 11 a2 11 11 11 11 11 11 a9 21 11 7c 3 The bad codes learnt from the E-Pilot. 0 f 6c 3 5f b7 11 23 67 3f 5f bc 1a 0 51 0 0 0 0 0 0 54 10 0 7c 3 Both of these sets of codes are for the 'Up' navigation button on a normal Sky Digibox remote. If anyone can offer suggestions on how I could proceed with this, then please do as I'd like to buy another E-Pilot if I can get it working with the sky box. Or if anyone knows anything about what those codes mean, and how they can be manipulated I would be interested just as much. Thanks.

The solution to the Remotecomm software 'Fail' problem was posted by Luka on another thread - looks like its actually a cabling problem:
Wow! I solved my problem. The problem is in the procedure and the link of the SLC-2081 Connecter and cable. Let's start with the connecter and cable. When connecting SLC-2081 and cable between the computer and UCommand-626 the red light should be on only. If you see the red (power), green (TXD) and green (RXD) lit, the download and upload function of the Remote Comm software will fail. To deal with the LEDs, the only thing I could do was to shimmy or plug and unplug the connector (at the remote) until the red light was on without the green TXD and RXD lights. If the SCL-2081 connector has the red light on only we can discuss the CrispSolutions procedures. The pamphlet doesn't cover much. What you need to know is the programming and customizing function of "Duplicate." Duplicate enables the transfer of data between two Ucommand-626 or a computer. The Duplicate option of Receive or Send will be used in conjunction with Remote Comm "Download from Remote" or "Upload to Remote" respectively. To download, enable Duplicate-Send and select "Download from Remote" from Remote Comm. To upload, enable Duplicate-Receive and select "Upload to Remote" from the Remote Comm. Using Windows 2000 (SP3) I've been able to transfer data at 128000 bits per second. However, default settings should be used. Don't expect a faster transfer at 128000 bits per second. In addition, Remote Comm will only use COM1 or COM2.
In more detail: (a) The RS232 link draws its power from the remote, not from the PC - so you need fresh batteries in the remote to make the link work, otherwise you will get a battery low indicator on the remote. (b) The PC link will not work in either direction(Remotecomm will give you a 'Fail' message) if either of the green LEDs on the RS232 link is fully on - by "fully on" I mean equal brightness to the red power LED. If one of the green LEDs is fully on then it means the PC link is stuck in a state where it will not work. If the green LEDs or one of them is half on then the link will work OK - by "half on" I mean noticeably less brightness than the red power LED (if an LED looks to be "half on" to the naked eye, it is in fact flickering on and off very rapidly which means the link is working fine). (c) If one of the green LEDs looks to be stuck fully on, which is common when you first connect up the RS232 link and the remote control, you can fix this by wiggling the two-pronged power and data connector up and down slightly in its sockets in the remote control - you will notice it is slightly loose and you can keep wiggling it, watching the LEDs, until the LEDs get themselves into a correct configuration (i.e. red power LED fully on, green LED half on or less). (d) If the link is operating correctly, then if you click on Upload or Download to Remote in the Remotecomm software (with the remote already activated to Send or Receive) then the PC will show a progress bar - like in the movie 'Independence Day' :) - and the remote will show a double-arrow pattern (chevrons) going up or down the screen according to whether you are uploading or downloading. (e) It can help to ensure that the cable between the RS232 link and the remote is fairly straight - if it is still coiled then that can prevent a good signal from getting through. (f) Even if the link is operating correctly, it can still sometimes fail part-way through the upload or download operation. To make mine work, I used 4800 bits per second and I did not move the remote or touch the cabling at all while the transfer was in progress. (g) The Windows default Serial port settings (9600 bits per second, even parity, 1 stop bit etc) should work OK. The remote and the PC will also connect at faster and slower speeds - for best results, I have found it best to switch to the lower speed of 4800 bits per second.

The SRC-9200 doesn't have a built-in code database, so you can only learn from your existing remotes.
