I have a small problem with my Ucommand 525, and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this. It's very minor, but quite annoying. The problem only occurs on my JVC tuner. When I try to switch to the Video or VCR inputs, the OK icon shows up for about 4 seconds (which seems unusual unless you're running a long macro), and doesn't switch the input. It switches to the CD, Tape, etc inputs fine. I've tried several times deleting the entire bank, as well as the macro it's assigned to but with the same result. Anyone else seen this?

By the way, as annoying this small problem is, this has to be one of the best quality remotes I've seen for $100. If you can't justify spending more on your UR than a component in your system, this thing is for you.

Ive got the same remote e-pilot 9200 and it stores sky digibox codes no problem. Had trouble with an old nokia analogue sat box, but after persistance it did accept some of the codes. It seems to work sometimes and not others. try long or short punches. they work! I also have the sony 930 dd dts amp and its a doddle if you turn off the 2 way command.

I just ordered a U Command 525 and I am really excited. My first learning remote.

Anyway, can anyone offer any hints for common or useful configurations of buttons? I know its a personal thing, but thought I would see what happened if I asked...

I have the new SRC-2010 with the PC Link cable and I can not get the link to work. If I connect to COM1 it starts "downloading" and then gives me a FAIL window. If I switch to COM2 it tells me there is a port already open and closes the program!! This software looks great, please somebody help me use it!!

I just bought this remote and I am hoping I'll be able to get it to work with my setup. I have a Harman Kardon receiver that has seperate buttons for power on and off, is there a code I can enter for this receiver for a general purpose on/off button or do I have to map two seperate buttons? I had a CInema 7 remote that seemed to be capable of everything I needed but it couldn't control my Panasonic Showstopper (and plus this one looks a lot cooler..) so I hope this one will work.

Just received my new UCommand 525 in the mail yesterday. (Used my $10 RemoteCentral discount at AVSmarts - thanks, guys!)

I cannot get the Pre-configued X10 codes to "unlock" and work properly.

I previously had the UCommand 515 (upgraded by Uli to include the X10 commands), so I'm very familiar with how the remote works. But either the Users Guide has a misprint, or I have a bum unit.

Anyone else ulizing X10 on the 525 successfully? Thanks for the input!

Yes, I have the same remote. The X10 functions are working fine. Are you using the IR Command Center, or something else? Maybe it's the IR receiver?

Did you? Would be interested in the packages that you mention such as "IR Command Center" -- what are they?

Right now, I'm just looking for answers in terms of "unlocking" the x10 commands on the UCommand 515...

Other than that, it's GREAT! I programmed a good number of macros, and they all work like a dream. Love the UCommand techonology for the VALUE.

Hm.. I also asked about the details of their serial connector, except their reply from my email was basically, it can't be done (i.e. you cannot connect it to a P.C), which I suspect is not the whole truth.

I didn't have to teach the remote any X10 commands when I got it. It came pre-programmed with them. You can't really teach it X10 commands anyway because their remotes transmit RF, and this thing only learns IR. Yours might be different (I have a 525), but I doubt it.

The device I mentioned translates the IR signals your remote sends, into RF signals your X10 devices can receive. I think your remote is already sending X10, you just need to translate the signal to X10's RF.

I don't think we're allowed to post a product link to another site here, but just search google for "IR Command Center" and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the follow-up, but I think you lost sight of my question.

I have had the IR543 "Command Center" for quite a while. Works pretty well.

I have previously had the UCommand 515 and it "talked to" the IR543 Command Center just fine. You are correct: you cannot teach the UCommand 525 X10 code, it comes loaded with that code, HOWEVER, you must activate the X10 codes in the UCommand 525. I can't do that. It is probably a defective 525, so I am returning to the retailer for an exchange.

So now it's off to the post office and a week's worth of anticipation of my "new" UCommand 525.

Look forward to new ideas coming from this thread (though the thread is entirely too long, and should get it's own forum!)

I have an 'old' SUR9000, which is the early model of the current SRC9200 (exactly the same case).
Still works ok, but I need to open the case for cleaning purposes.
Has anyone opened one of these, and if so, how?
I have obviously undone the one screw under the battery, but do not want to force the case open more than I have already tried, for fear of some secret latch breaking 'cause I didn't know about it.
Yes it is well out of warranty.

I have the same problem..gutted. Taking it back to Maplin for a refund today. The box clearly shows a Cable button, but it won't work the main cable box in the UK so 'not fit for purpose'
