Recently, for looking for more demo remotes (mine keep getting sold to customers), I came across the RC9800i for under $200. Compared to the Harmony 1000, it's half the price, yet contains WAY more features.
What gives?
The reviews on this board are so mixed it's confusing. Half love them, half hate them, and the reasons for which are never the same. Is the "quality control" (in this case, probably the firmware) that poor? Does it not do everything it says? I just don't get it...

The problem is its price was very high when it came out but doesn't have the custom abilities that the other remotes in its price range had/has. I think for around the sub 200 dollar price, it is a pretty good remote. But it has no custimization which is important to know before you buy it.
I also think the frustration comes from having a wifi remote with linux on it, it obviously having some amazing capabilities but none are really utilized.
I have two and I am currently selling one for like 100 bucks. I think it is a great price for the remote since I see it as along the line of some of the lower end Harmony remotes anyway.
