I feel like I'm so close. I'm on Windows 11, but following some instructions got ProntoProEdit NG 2.1.8.0 to install just fine. The only problem is, the drivers that it came with don't appear to be what the device is looking for. When I connect my remote, I do get the tone from Windows and I can see the UNKNOWN DEVICE listed in DEVICE MANAGER pop up. Updating the driver doesn't do any good because I don't think the drivers that came with 2.1.8.0 are the ones that it is looking for. I've selected the DRIVER folder under 2.1.8.0 and even specifically selected the WIN2KXPME folder, but the drivers in there are Pronto2G.inf. After some research it appears the drivers I need are labeled something like, prontousb.inf, .sys, or .cat. I can't find these anywhere. Does anyone possibly have a copy? Thanks.

The TSU7000 Driver was on the original CD for sure. If you install PPENG, does it not have a folder with drivers?

If you have a TSU3000 it did not require drivers.

I'm looking on my NAS for the driver. In the meantime, have you seen this post?

Found them. If you email me using an address that can accept zip attachments (see my email on profile), I will send you a zip with the 4 files. They were only available for Win98 and WinXP_2K_ME.

With the files in this zip and the instructions above, you should be able to install.

Thank you so much for responding. For some reason I didn't get a notification or I would have responded sooner.

Anyway...oh my...what a journey. If you want to know all the sortid details that led me here, just let me know, but I won't bore you with them now.

Basically, I FINALLY found success. I eventually used my media server to create an XP VM, so I could point to the 32-bit drivers you mentioned. I had those drivers as well, but compatibility just wasn't working in Windows 11.

I am pretty much shocked I actually got it to work. Tested by downloading my PCF, making a little change and then uploading it back. Success never felt so good.

I'm just dumbfounded why products like this didn't last. All I want is a touchscreen that I can completely configure with some hard buttons. The TSU7000 is fine, but with newer technology I would have thought I would have seen a more advanced and modern product like that today, but I really haven't.

Anyway, thanks again for your help.

IPhone or Android.

With regard to driver compatibility, I know when I tried to load those drivers for Win7, it said not certified and I chose to install anyway.

Oh yea, I ran into that a number of times as well and proceeded, but the issue persisted. It wasn't until actually being on XP and pointing to the XP driver that things started working. Even then, the VM adds an extra layer of potential issues, but I was eventually able to get through those as well. Thanks again.

I've been running pronto Edit NG on XP under a VM for a couple of years now. The VM is currently running under Win11.

Yes, that remote (TSU3000/3500 and EU equivalents) used standard windows HID drivers and hence the software ProntoEditNG (PENG) does not have an issue. The 7X00 series with color required a special driver to work with the ProntoProEditNG (PPENG).
