I've read several posts dealing with the "sluggishness" of the 7500.
In an effort to improve the responsiveness of my 7500, I've turned off the animation. That helped some. Turning off the beep helped even more. I'm using 3.8.14. My free memory is 95%; I deleted a bunch of unnecessary splash pages in the hope of improving the responsiveness. None of this, however, I don't think affects the issue at hand.
I've discovered something about the responsiveness of buttons when I wake up the screen.
Before and after the changes above, I've always just tapped the screen to wake it up. When I pressed a button it seemed to take a couple seconds for the button to respond (i.e., go to the "pressed" state).
But, when I use the Backlight button to wake up the screen, the button response is almost instantaneous.
Anybody else noticed this?
Anybody have an idea why?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, this unfortunately seems to be the case. I haven't been using my 7500 as much recently but when I touch the screen to wake up and press my start button to power up the system I would press it twice half the time because I didn't think it was working. It was just being slow.
