Hi

I have the prontopro 980, have just started to get the hang of it, have
tried the 9800, watta load of rubbish, easy to set up, but then your
stuck, for instance to use Sky + in the UK you have 7/8 pages to go
through with no chance of editing so placing your favs on one page,
a total waste of time :-(
Anyway, to my question, what do most see as the best remote, The
Pronto pro or the ipronto

Just wondering ;-)

I believe that the ipronto6400 is a discontinued model. There are some who like it, some who don't. Browse the forum and read some of the posts to get a better feel.

I have both ProntoPro NG and iProntoTSU6400. THe screen real estate on the iPronto permits you to put every function for a device on a single screen, while Pronto requires multiple screens for each device. THe graphics are the same for both, but the big screen enables you to do things graphically (e.g. zoning) that don't work well on the small screen. The iPronto has hard buttons only for Volume, channel and mute. THe smaller Pronto has several hard buttons including navigation that is very handy.

The iPronto, which connects via WiFi, enables web browsing. I don't find that particularly useful, but there are some users who do use it all the time.

Many of the features of the Pronto editor never got incorporated into the iPronto editor. THis makes the iPronto more cumbersome to program.

I love the iPronto for by big HE system, but it is overkill if you have a small number of devices. My Pronto is relegated to the bedroom where there is just a TV and a DVD player.

Finally, the iPronto is a discontinued product. Caveat emptor.

If you are interested in the Internet access feature of the iPronto, take a look at this thread which discusses an interesting application.
