I have the same TV as you have, and if I remember correctly, my set requires 3-4 seconds from starting up before I can switch input to Input 4 (HDMI for DVD).
What dicscrete codes are you using for turning the set on and off? I havent found any discrete "on" that I'm happy with, so I'm always using "1" on the keypad to turn it on.
