If you started each sentence with a capital letter and ended with a period, it would be much easier to read and understand. I almost gave up.

A few questions.
Did you make any changes to your PCF before you tried to download it to your Pronto?
How are you trying to learn your codes - through PPENG or direct on the Pronto?
Are you connecting directly or through the docking station?

No i have made no changes to pcf.
I am learning by direct method(pointing the other remote at pronto).
Yes iam connected directly to docking station.
It seems to happen if i use the*test ir* button,it works once then says unable to comunicate with device.
I can then only carry on by re-booting the pronto,ie remove battery plug and replace it,
Would i be better off installing the previous firmware version.

thanks.

I too had the same problem with the "Test IR" function. I do not use it, I prefer to learn the codes for several buttons, download the new config and test it.

That way you never need to reset the Pronto. I also never program the Pronto or learn codes with the device on the docking station, there is no need to, and I remember a post sometime ago that mentioned a problem with this.

I have had my Pronto NG for several months now, works like a dream!
