What program would you suggest to copy the flipped side of a dvd so that I could use it in a changer? The program that came with the PC is "Sonic" and it will not burn copy protected DVD's.
Thanks

I don't think discussion of disc copying on this forum is encouraged. However, google search for DVD Decrypter (which supports full disc-backup copies in ISO mode).

Do it legally and buy a second copy of the DVD.

I wasn't trying to do anything illegal, only making a copy for myself. I thought it was only illegal to copy and sell - not backup. I thought I read in a thread (DVD Jacket)from Lowpro that he made a copy of a double-sided dvds so that he didn't have to remove it from his changer each time he wanted to play it.

I did create backup copies of the flip sides of all my older DVD's prior to loading my changers, so that I could watch the flip side of any given disc without having to manually flip the disc over in the changer. Right or wrong aside, the discs will stay in my changers. I've never loaned out one of my backup copies. If at some point I don't want them anymore I will shred them. After all, I just love the sound my shedder makes when it crunches up a disc. I sometimes put brand new cd-r's through the shredder just for the heck of it. :-) You know there are companies out there selling DVD media servers which copy DVD's to internal hard drives. I don't think the law is so cut and dry on this, but this is really a discussion meant for the DVD Chat forum.

My understanding is that it is legal to make a backup but not legal to use any DVD decrypting software, or even to have a copy in your possession. And that applies in most developed countries.

It is not legal to bypass the DRM (Digital Rights Management)
That being said it is very unlikely that a person would be sued for doing this for his own backup purposes as it could set a legal precident allowing the average home user to bypass DRM for personal use.
A legal battle would pit the Fair Use laws and the DMC laws against one another. If fair use were to prevail in court consumers would get a pretty big win. So I highly doubt you'd get anything from the MPAA even if you were turned in some how.

Just use DVD Shrink and burn with Nero. With some of the newer encryptions, Shrink will not work but DVDFab will. For crying out loud, the OP is not trying to sell these on a street corner. If he was, he'd already know how to do this.
