I've searched the forum for any info about this quandry, but haven't had any luck yet. The issue is with the Play/Pause command on my Samsung DVD HD841. Every time I try to program that particular IR command, it ends up not working. But here's the real head scratcher - as long as the ProntoPro NG is still connected to the computer and I issue a "Test IR" command, the learned command works just fine. The minute I download the file to the TSU7000, disconnect and go live, it ceases to function. All other commands work just fine.

I have tried using the built-in DB. I have also downloaded two similar device files from this site and copied the codes directly into my PCF. Everything results in the same experience - works just fine in "Test IR" mode, no good live once the file is on the TSU7000.

Anyone have any advice.

Thanks.

Is it a duration issue? Does anything change when you hold the key down?

I have used the IR code here as default and it worked. Duration might help???

MOstly I don't like this DVD due to the Poweron/Play/Pause all being one button. Forget the fact that when I tested it it could not play back my TNG DVDs. (If I can't enjoy my favorite TV show the DVD player isout of here!@) Just kiding.. well sort of.

There is a Samsung PCF with all the known codes and it has a pause button. Sure its the same on/Play/Pause button but it is labeled as Pause. Works in the one 7000 I have out there with a Samsung DVD.

I will see if I can find the hex for it.

I tried holding the original remote's key down during programming and the 7000's button down during operation (I know that wouldn't do anything, but I'll try everything at this point). Nothing changed.

Are you using a RFX module ar shooting IR always?

The "test IR" function sends IR. If your PCF is using RF, it could be something else.

All IR all the time.

Have you actually tried adjusting the duration as others have suggested?

Maybe I'm missing something. As I answered above, if you mean the duration of holding down the button on the remote for a longer period of time while the TSU7000 is learning, then yes, I have done that - numerous times. If you mean something other than that, I'm probably not doing it since I don't know what other actions are duration-based.

Thanks.

Apologies - a bit of a brain fart. I had tried setting the duration, but I actually focused on the word "minimum" and overlooked that it was in the "duration" block. Setting the minimum to anything other than default resulted in the IR not even working in test mode, so I set it back to "default" and forgot about it. Inspired by the rather terse note a couple posts back, I tried it again - same results.

As I have noted, it works fine in Test IR mode. When I send the file to the remote and try it, Play/Pause is the only command that does not work. Interestingly, when I do push the button, my Motorola DCT6208 digital cable box flashes its display from the time to the channel and back again. It does not do that in Test IR mode.

I do not use the button in any way other than directly (i.e. - it's not used in a macro).

Well, I can call off the dogs. I just kept teaching the remote, and trying it again and again - holding the original remote's button down for a variety of durations - and one finally clicked. I still don't know why every one of the attempts worked in Test IR mode yet only the last one worked after being downloaded to the remote, but since it works now, I'll move on to other endeavors.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Might I suggest grabbing that IR code and backing it up somewhere now that you've got it working. Notepad always works. :-)

I have indeed done so - including printing it out and storing it with my Pronto manual.

Regards.

The main difference between Test IR and direct from Pronto is the Duration.
