I would like to start a thread to keep track of all the issues with ProntoEdit NG 1.2. I suggest that we only post to this thread to add new issues; no me too's, etc. This will keep the list lean and mean. (and usable to Philips?) To keep the list organized, keep it to one issue per post.

ProntoEdit does not import certain Pronto characters from a CCF
I noticed that certain special characters do not get imported: Play, Pause, Stop, Menu left, Menu right. There may be others too.

ProntoEdit NG does not display Pronto special characters correctly
On a Windows 2000 Professional (and possibly Windows XP) system whether the default system locale is set to a multibyte locale (Asian), there are cases that the Pronto special characters are not displayed correctly. For example,
Label Properties keyboards are not displayed correctly. Create Links dialog box.
These are cases where the special Pronto characters are displayed correctly
Label text field in the Label Properties dialog box. Button and panel labels on all pages.

Missing Dimensions properties for System Items
System Items can moved in the new ProntoEdit NG 1.2, but no property dialog box is provided. Providing the Dimensions property dialog box would give better positioning control.

Hardbutton labels not shown on all pages
Labels assigned to the hardbuttons (for example "Tools") do not show through on the other pages other than the System page.

Font size and color of hardbutton labels
It is not possible to set the font size and color of the labels associated with the hardbuttons.

Hardbuttons can be deleted but not inserted
ProntoEdit NG 1.2 now allows you to move and delete the four hardbuttons at the bottom. But once deleted, there is no way to insert them again.

Labeling hardbuttons inconsistent
The hardbuttons ("Tools", etc) can be labeled from the System or Device properties. A shortcut is available in the Edit menu. However, the same shortcut is grayed out in the context sensitive menu and the Label properties dialog box is not available under the button properties (there are no button properties).

Am I missing something? I have been unable to successfully install ProntoEdit NG 1.2 on two systems, one running XP and one running Win98. I keep getting the message the the program can't access the registry, and the program needs to be reinstalled. But I have tried reinstalling it several times, several different ways, and keep getting the same error. Has anyone else seen this problem? I haven't tried to get an answer from Philips yet. Thanks for your help

Do you have sufficient rights on this PC? Did you uninstall the prev. version?

Yes, I do have sufficient priveleges. I got the same problem on one computer running XP Home, and one running Windows98 SE. I did uninstall the previous software as well on both machines. Seems like a corrupted install file, but I got it from Philips, and even downloaded it a second time with the same result. ????? I was able to successfully install version 1.1, after my failed attempt at 1.2 (I previously had 1.0 installed), also on both machines.

Firm key labels not acting as soft buttons.
The only firm key label I can get to act as a soft button is firm key 1. The others are just labels.

Not really needed as you can just put soft buttons over the labels that act as both.
