I was all set on getting the TSU3000, but the more I look at the TSU7000, I really think it would be "cool" to have that instead (black housing with a color display, really nice looking), but honestly, based off of those two things alone shouldn't be the reason I get the TSU7000 over the TSU3000. So I was wondering, besides those two things and the price, are there any other legitimate reasons for me to buy the TSU7000 over the TSU3000? I have a Harmony 520 currently and I don't like it, I hate having to scroll through that small LCD display to find the function I need, and I feel as though the remote isn't as advanced as I would like it to be. I would also like to state that I foolishly purchased a copy of Dave's Pronto Wizard, so I am pretty much commited to one of those two Pronto's :) And if this helps, here are the items that will be currently controlled but the remote (more may come in the future, like a HD cable box or something): Sony KDL-V32XBR1 - 32" LCD Pioneer VSX-74TXVi - A/V Reciever MS XBOX 360 Velodyne DD-10 - subwoofer Media PC - Remote and IR are the ones that came bundled with my Silverstone LC16m case
I would like to make the purchase soon, like tomorrow :) Please aid me in this purchase so I can think about something else for a change, thanks.
BTW, great site. I love the files section and support.

The vast improvement in visibility with the color screen seems enough for most! :-)

Defintely. The 3000 can be hard to read. The 7000 is vastly easier.
Note that the 7000 has been replaced by the 7500 and the 3000 is currently being replaced by the 3500 (which is supposed to be easier to read).

Well, the question should then be, which to buy, the TSU7000 or TSU7500?
Honestly, the TSU7000 is a little more than I wanted to spend, but its cheaper than the TSU7500, is it worth the extra few hundred in this case to get the TSU7500?
Also, I see that the TSU7000 is cheapest on eBay, would it be wise for me to buy off eBay, or would B&H Photo/Video be a better choice. I am talking about if/when warranty issues arise, will an eBay purchase come back to haunt me?
Thanks for the replies, I can see that visibility would be a big issue as that is sort of the issue currently with the 520 that I have.

I bought the tsu70000 refurbished on ebay for less than 400.00. To me the unit looks brand new, and I haven't had a problem yet.It comes with only a 90 day garantee compared to 1 year, if brand new.

Well then $400 on eBay is a great deal for the TSU7000, the TSU7500 is a little more than I want to spend, especially when coming from a $100 remote. Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it (look for more annoying posts from me when the remote arrives :) )

slick,
The software for the 3000/7000 is significantly different from the legacy prontoedit. I'd highly suggest that you go ahead and download it, play with it, build some PCFs, import your existing CCF, and give it a really good test drive. That includes pressing F1 and looking at the online help which is much better than was ever there before.
Also, read both FAQs (Pronto and ProntoNG) as many of the older FAQs still hold true for the NG remotes.
welcome aboard.

Thanks for the suggestions Lyndel.
I am currently reading through the ProntoWizard I bought yesterday, and so far, I can tell its very well done.
I have downloaded some PCF files (like the one for my Velodyne DD-10) and I am currently building the others. With all the time I have this weekend at work, I wouldn't be surprised if I had it done by the time the TSU7000 arrives :)
I think I will read the FAQ's first though, thanks.
