To do this, you must edit ConfigEdit.xml and provide images that are larger than 90x9 pixels.

See this thread then follow my links. [Link: remotecentral.com]Per the FAQ... A PCF is nothing more than a zip file that contains a file ConfigEdit.XML and a 'Bitmaps' folder with all images. Armed with this information and a text (notepad) and image (MSPaint, GIMP, PSP8, Photoshop, etc) editor, you can do wonders.

Lyndel,
I tried to do the XML modifying to change color and size of the clock. I got the color and size (Font) to change. I couldn't get the dimension of the bmp to change. I put a larger dimension in the XML file where it needs to be, and I supplied a larger bmp with the same name as the old one. What I couldn't do was remove the original 90X9 bmp from the zip file. For some reason, winzip isn't allowing me to delete any of the bmp or png files from the zip files, and supply my own with the same name. I had this same problem when I was trying to change the background for the page # identifier, and the device name... any ideas about this?
Thanks, Mark

Lyndel, disregard my previous post. For some reason Winzip didn't like what I was doing, but I downloaded WinRAR and it worked exactly as described in that post by Andre. Thanks for your guidence on this.

I actially hide the clock. Any time you kill the battery or have to reset you need to reset the clock. Just find it easier to not have it in configs and hide it. Just my 2 cents.

If you search for TimeStatus, you will find that in the same place where you changed the font size, there's an entry for dimension that is set to "90 9"
The Clock requires 2 bitmaps. The first entry is the one used if there are no timers set on the remote. The 2nd one is the one used if timers are set.
Simply create a new image with white background of say 90 x 15 for 10 point font Then, enlarge the image with the timer "clock" on it such that it is 90x10.
Replace the existing Bitmap files with the new files. Ensure that the Bitmap entries in the Bitmaps section state UpperLeftTransparency and you should be good to go once you change the dimension to "90 15".

I had done some editing for my system page. Somehow peng just ignores the font size for the tiime field and uses the default 8. I only tested it with the simulator and did not try downloading to the remote. The change works for the date field and device buttons.

The latest PPENG editor will preserve color changes for time and date but I'm not sure about font size.

Lyndel, it works for font sizes as well... I upped mine to 10pt. I guess I'm getting old, my eyes don't work as well as they used to...

Folks, Thank you fot the tip on editing the xml file. I successfully changed the clock size to 10 in less than 30 minutes. I didn't use WinRar directly. In Windows XP the file extensions are not displayed. So I used a dos command window to change the extention from pcf to zip. Then I extracted the entire file to a new folder. I used a text editor to change the dimensions of the TimeStatus bitmap and the font size to 10. I changed the dimension the timer bitmaps to 15 bits from 9 (using a photo editor). Copied the new files back into the zip file. Changed the extension back from zip to pcf and ProntoEditNG was happy.
Now I can see the time on the remote.
Thank you!
