Hey guys, I am so happy with the 7000. I had to post to tell everyone. After owning my 7000 for a good year and a half...I finally sat down the night before last and gutted my pcf and made it useful to anyone that walked up to the system. I had always figured that a good activity based pcf with help screens would be too much work to make it bulletproof. I was wrong. It took me only one night (I stayed up until 4am) of programming to get it to work flawlessly. I used the builtin graphics that comes with PPENG, and was finally able to make something that looked good with those "classic" backgrounds and "birch" buttons. I handed it to my wife last night, who up until now, has been afraid to touch the remote, or use our plasma or whole house audio, or play a cd... She and my 3 year old started pushing buttons, and couldn't mess it up. I am thrilled with it, and she wants me to program one for the bedroom's system now. If anyone wants to look at it, let me know and I'll email it to you. It's not the prettiest pcf by a long shot, but it works great and makes it simple for anyone to control a complex system. She can even use the HTPC now, which she has never messed with. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not....now I'll never get her off it. Once you use a pc on a 55" monitor, you never want to go back to a 15" laptop screen.

Anyways...I was so excited I just had to post about it...now I'm done...

Later,
Mark

That sounds very interesting, but why not upload your pcf here so everyone can enjoy it.

I'd love to see it! You can send it via email to tim at armagost.net, or upload it here, as has been suggested!

Thanks!

Mark,

I'll send it to Daniel as soon as I finish updating the source control pages. They still need some work.

Ok Steve, I sent it to you too. It's just about to the point where it's ready to post on RC.com... Still some minor changes that take time, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.
