I have a ppro 7000 and a JVC LCD TV. After learning in the power command for the tv it works perfectly, but if I put down the Pronto for five to ten minutes and then try again the power command does not work. I have tried learning from the original remote and I tried using the discrete codes from this site and the same thing happens. This only happens with the JVC Power commands, the rest of the codes work fine. If I turn the TV on and then off with it's original remote and then immediately try the pronto it works fine. After shutting the tv off for a while the pronto cannot turn it back on. Any ideas?

Please Help!!

Almost sounds like a toggle bit... I'd suggest posting the hex and trying to learn multiple times - seeing if there's any variance in the learned code.

It isn't a toggle bit. It is a different unusual feature of the JVC protocol.

If you post the Pronto Hex for the problem signal, I can give you corrected Pronto Hex.

The JVC signal has an initial portion that just gets the attention of the IR receiver. That is followed by the actual command. In earlier IR receiver designs, that initial portion was necessary to set the gain control of the receiver (distinguish signal from ambient IR noise). Newer designs don't need it for gain control, but in a low power mode may need it to wake up enough to decode the power on signal.

It is very easy to mislearn the signal such that the initial part is missing or wrong. In most other situations that will work. In fact it may be more responsive than a correct learn, because the meaninful part of the signal may be sent sooner.
