Wondering if someone can answer the following for me.

Downstairs in our family room we have all our AV equipt. I was planning to use Prontopro to control all the units.

Upstairs there are 5 zones. Two of the zones have IR recievers that come to the family room. I was hoping to buy another Pronto Pro to connect control those zones.

Questions -

1. Would I be able to use the Pronot upstairs, point it to one of the IR recievers that would connect directly to the Philips RF reciever through CAT 3 cable?

2. Are there other RF extenders that work with Pronto Pro other than Philips?

Thanks for your help.

Philips is releasing a new extender shortly - the 6500. They claim that it is very much improved. There is some info on their web site.

What kind of multizone equipment are you controlling? Are the five zones working together or are they independent of one another?

What brand is your multizone equipment?

You cannot send RF through wires, it is a wireless signal that will go straight to the RF receiver as long as you are within range.

You can use your remotes IR transmitter with the IR receivers to send the signal down to your multizone equipment.
