I have the right rocker button set to zoom ahead on a recording on my 7000 and, if I hit it fast a few times, the remote locks up and screams a high pitched tone till I hit the reset button. It's getting worse as time goes by. I have not made any changes to the programming for weeks. I'm also noticing a delay in command transmission when a hard button is pressed. I have had to develop a habit of pushing a button and holding it till I hear the beep. Sometimes that can take a full second. Any ideas?

Are you using the latest firmware?

Reflash the remote with the LATEST firmware. You have not stated what firmware version you are using but the earlier 7000 firmware releases did indeed have problems like you suggest where the remote would lock up after a period of time due to a memory leak.

If I recall correctly, the latest firmware was only days old when I purchased my 7000 and I installed it before I programmed it. I'll redownload it and see what happens.

edit: I see a new version has been released within the last week. I know that is not what is installed in the unit. I'll try it and see what happens!
