I have just received my new TSU7000. I have just discovered that the volume up button is very intermitent. You have to press the button quite firmly and occassionaly it will function. The other firm buttons are very tactile and responsive.

I purchased the unit in the US because I was unable to buy one here. I contacted Philips customer support spoke to a lady in Hong Kong or Singapore I think it was who put me one to a Philips service agent here in Australia who did not know anything about the remote and certianly didn't sell them. I contacted Philips here in Australia and they didn't know anything about the TSU-7000 and put me onto their customer support people. Armed with all this information there would be no product support here. Anyway this is why I bought it inthe US.

That said I believe I am on my own as far as Philips support short of getting it back to the US.

Has anyone else had a firm button problems? If I have to get a replacement button is there a source of Philips spare part that might be able to buy a switch assembly? How has got a switched on Philips spare parts centre.....pardon the pun!

Appreciate your assistance.

Are you sure it's not teh IR Code? A dirty code can exhibit this behaviour.

Both the 3000 and the 7000 have been sold in Australia. I think they still are.

Hi Peter,

Thank for the suggestion but it is definetely a faulty switch. Mechanically it is soft and not tactile like the other firm switches.

You are probably right and the TSU7000 equivalent however all attempts to get who handled them in Australia from Philips themselves was absolutely hopeless! They didn't know what I was talking about, I gave them both the US amd European model numbers and the best I could get was the service agent in my state who knew nothing about them and certainly didn't sell them.

I went through this process three times and gave up! Purchased overseas.....I would have preferred to have bought local but Philips saw to that!!

I have contacted Philips via email on there customer support section and explained the situation I find myself in an surprise surprise I have heard nothing! They are hopeless in customer support. I am a customer support engineer for a broadcast equipment manufacturer and if we treated our customers like Philips have treated me we would be out of business!!

I think the best idea is to purchase a replacement switch and fit it myself. Leads me to the next question where can I purchase a spare part........no point looking here in Austraila Philips don't know the product exists!! Any suggestions??

Thanks again.

I'm having exactly the same problem, though on my unit it's the Volume down button that is having the problem. If anyone knows of a way to get this issue addessed, I'm all ears.
