Tonight i was updating my software and the firmware. During the firmware installation there was some sort of error. After i disconnected and tried to reconnect i got 3 short beeps of the same tone. Usually it goes beep, and then a higher beep, when connecting with the usb port. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, nothing works. Even reseting the remote. My remote still works, i just can get my pc to recognize. Anybody else have this problem? Please help me, i just got an HD DVR from directv and I gotta finish my programming.

Good luck.....no one on here can help...besides the reset button!!!! or you'll get the download a new firmware ver...but..impossible if u cant connect to pc...U now have a paper weight!!!

actually, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and everything works fine now. you may not want to try to give any advice vette, doesnt look like you have been around too long.

Actually when I saw the first part of vette's comment . . . it sounded like a an pro. The "not connected to PC" problem seems to happen very frequently--including to me--and there seem to be ways to work it out, but not fix it. I have to go through a ridiculous process (uninstall drivers, reboot pc, upload pcf from pronto, then download pcf to pronto) EVERY time I want to update the pcf on my Pronto, and no one here seems to know a real fix for that.

p.s. if the 'wolverine' is for Michigan . . . GO BLUE! (UMich '99)
