My TSU7000 has totally breakdown, charge lights on cradle is on, but the set has no response at all, no display no nothing, totally out!

Its just out of warranty, Philips says unless I purchase a replacement unit at $470, it has not an option for philips repairment to this model if out of warranty, damn!

So, can anyone suggest me where should I send this unit for repair other than Philips?

Thanks,
a desperate new TSU7000 user.

Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of the firmware?

Did you re-flash the firmware, it can really work even on an apparent dead pronto. Be sure it is the latest version.

Cannot even see the flash function in PRONTO NG edt v2.0.12.0. It says no device is connected properly. So I cannot flash the firmware at all.

Any comment? Any place to take it to service? HELP!!!!!

Try diconnecting your USB cable and cradle , reboot your computer and plug in the craddle and usb cable only, leave your pronto out of the cradle until it has completely re-booted. Be sure you have the lastest firware and try again. You might also try also disconnecting the battery for a few minutes prior to all of this.

HELP!!!!!

The Flash function is NOT in the editor. The firmware update is a separate executable. When you connect the remote, try holding the reset button down until the software asks you to press and release the reset button.

Yes, the flash is in separate program, no luck with all you guys advise on USB, computer, nor holding reset button until..., it is just dead. You just cannot get it connect to anything while it is dead!

I have had Pronto NG's that appeared to be *almost* completely dead come back. However the "almost" part was they would still connect to your PC, although the remote itself showed no outward signs of life.

Have you tried a different PC?

Is the battery pack tightly connected and secure?

The cradle lights will go on, and the remote will light up in the cradle even when the battery pack isn't installed.

Also, have you been connecting the USB through the cradle? I know especially if the battery is low or damaged, connecting through the cradle may help.

Just some suggestions.

Mine just did the exact same thing. Only difference is that when I restart mine, I get a live working remote until it goes dim. Once it does that, gone. Set it to the max, 4 min and kept turning it over and over and not hitting buttons and when it went dim, nothing. Does yours do that? I get the feeling mine may be the device on the inside that wakes it up when you rotate it. If you get anywhere, please post it.

Hold the Backlight button on the left side and press Page Up/Down to see if the light comes back on.

Thanks. Just tried. Nothing. And, in turn, when I do have it on (will still stay on as long as I am pushing buttons on the screen or front) the three hard buttons on that left side do not do anything. I have not upgraded the firmware. Can someone post a link explaining how. (novice end user here...)
