I've read all the reviews for the pronto and marantz remotes and I still have a question. I know nearly all of these remotes will support my current home theater with Sat. HDTV, receiver, vcr, PS2, 2 sony 400 disc changers, and HDTV. However I also need a remote that will control X10 which i believe all prontos can handle with the RF to IR converter, but with the nearly 600 dvd's i've accumulated within 2 changers I need a way to have all the titles or icons to appear on the remote programmed with individual macros to turn on the tv, receiver, and dvd player, select the appropriate source and load the correct dvd from the correct changer. I know I can do this with the TSU7000, but I'd like to spend a little less and get the TSU3000. With only 4mb of memory can this be accomplished???

They are showing a couple new models tomorrow at Cedia, not sure of any specifics as of yet. So you might want to hold on a couple days.

I hve never put that many graphics in a Pronto (charge by the hour) so I don't know the answer to your question though.

Good luck

i don't necessarily need graphics such as the icons mentioned; however, I do need a text line button at least. Will the tsu3000 support 600+ of these labeling each dvd.

The amount of memory used will depend, in large part, on the number, size, and complexity of the graphics used. If you just use the same button over and over you can easily fit 600 DVD titles and probably still have tons of room left over. Just look through the files section for a PCF that has a button of the shape and size desired, extract the button and use it in your own.

You need an ir543 device which will accept IR commands and convert them to X10 signals. RF has nothing to do with it, although you can insert an RF link for the X10 device just like any other IR device. You can get one at X10.com for around $20.

I think so. You need only a single button graphic to go with your 600 labels. You should communicate with Lowpro and Lyndel who are experts on this subject. (Check out SuperNudeList and download Lowpro's pcf)

Also the 3000 is being replaced with the 3500 which may have more memory. That said, the difference in price between the 3000 and 7000 is only about $200 - $300 these days - about $.35 - $.50/DVD in your case. The 7000 is so much better than the 3000, the 3000 is hardly worth considering. With the 7000, you have enough memory to put individual DVD graphics on every button. Way cool!
