TSU7000:
I have set up macros that turn on and off devices in sequence. As part of the macro I have lights being turned on or off depending on the macro used. The devices work as they should but no matter what I do and where I place them in the macro, the lights won't turn on or off. I have linked to direct ON and OFF X-10 buttons that work fine when selected directly. I can see the X-10 IR receiver accepting the macro commands. I have played with delays and am at .4 seconds currently between commands but no change. Would it help if I put the lighting device command in twice with no delay between them to give a longer duration?

Thanks, Don

Create a button and run a test macro off this button. The macro should have only one step, the link to the X10 button that executes the command. Test the "macro" with only one command and see if it controls the lights correctly. I have a suspicion that this is a duration issue.

Don, What do I do if it is a duration issue? Will increasing the length how long the IR gets transmitted, in the code window help?

With newest software and firmware you can increase the duration of a code. In addition, the old fashion method (variable success) is to execute the code multiple times in succession, and this was far more successful with the TSU2000/6000.
Practically, do you have to hold the "lights off" button or does a quick tap successfully execute the command? If you cannot get the lights to respond with a quick tap, it is almost certainly related to duration.

I was able to get a light to work as a single item macro with the tape of the macro button but still no luck with the imbedded macro with other devices. I finally coppied the IR code into the X10 line item in the macro and set the duration to .4 seconds. This worked, although not consistantly. It is a step in the right direction and I'm still playing. Doubling up on the device in the macro didn't work.

For what it's worth, I was finally able to get the X-10 lights in my system to work flawlessly with the Macro that turns on and off my devices.

The best way is to select the X-10 items you want to turn on or off and line them up in the macro sequentially with a .2 second delay between each. Then add the X-10 command with a duration of .5 seconds to the "ON' or "OFF" function. The macro will select each X-10 device and then turn them on all at the same time. For my case it turns ON or OFF two lights in my Home theater room and one in the hall.
