Hello all,

I just purchased my TSU3000, but already seem to have accumulated the frustration level it's taken others years to reach [actually from reading the threads, I think everybody reaches this point on their first day of Pronto ownership]. ;-)

First, the problem I can't fix: I have the latest PNG firmware (3.6.7), but was experiencing other problems and a suggestion was to reload the firmware--but I can't. When I try it tells me that it can't read the current version on my Pronto so it's going to overwrite it, which I say "okay" to. It then tells me I need to reset the Pronto--no matter how many times I press reset (or unseat and reseat the battery plug), it keeps the "neet to reset" screen up. I cannot get past this point. Any suggestions?

Second, the problem I have "fixed" but hoping for an easier way. When trying to load new .pcf's onto my Pronto, the program repeatedly tells me the pronto is not connected to the pc. I've read every other thread in the forum I can find on this problem, so tried all the suggestions. In the end, this is the only thing I've found to get it to work (and if I leave out any single step, it gives me the "not connected to pc" note). I have to: 1) uninstall the USB driver that runs the port the Pronto is connected to; 2) reset the Pronto; 3) restart my computer; 4) load up PENG and upload the .pcf from my pronto to the PC; and then 5) dowload the .pcf I want onto my Pronto. Next time I want to download (even if only making a minor change to the .pcf and trying a minute later), I have to go through the whole process again. If I leave out anything (e.g. don't "upload" first), it says it's not connected.

I have the latest version of PENG 2.1.1. I've seen some threads indicating that because of all the bugs, it's better to use the prior version until the new one comes out--do others agree, disagree? Also, have seen varying advice on using the docking base and how that plays into the above problem--is there consensus as to which method of connection to the PC results in the least problems?

I'm happy at least that I'm able to download the .pcf's to my Pronto, but there has to be an easier way, maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks to everyone else in the forum whose advice has already helped me work through many problems.
Paul

By the sound of it you're using the docking station. Try a direct connection to the remote.

I've tried it with the docking station and without and it doesn't seem to make a difference, but thanks for the reply.
