I'm a relativly new Pronto TSU7000 owner. And I've uploaded the the 3.7.7 firmware and my pronto only seems to see 16MB of memory. Is there anything else I need to do?
Pronto Pro NG TSU7000 v2.1
Application version App 3.7.7
Database Version v3.5.2 U
Boot loader version Boot V4.25
I'm using the Tonks PCF It's about 8MB and my pronto says 46% free memory. I hope I'm not missing something stupid but I'm sure if I am someone here can straighten me out.

Thanks.

PCF file size does not correlate to the size downloaded to the remote. For example, my v1.02 file is a 4mb PCF file but becomes a 10mb file on the remote and leaves 65% free memory.

Please keep in mind also that only 28 megs of that 32 are actual available for your .pcf file as stated by Philips. The other 4 megs or so are already spoken for. They are used for the OS and built-in IR code database.

Thanks I knew about the 4meg that was reserved but didn't know that the files size changed. Clearly I have to do some trimming of m config file.

Thanks for saving me a lot of time pulling my hair.

To trim down your file I'd suggest going with 8-bit bitmaps whenever possible. I use 8-bit bitmaps almost exclusively, otherwise my pcf file would not have a prayer of downloading to the remote.

My current pcf file is just under 15 megs and contains 1,629 images. Only 26 are png files. The rest are 8-bit bitmaps. Unzipped my Bitmaps folder is 26 megs, and my ConfigEdit.xml file is 11 megs for a grand total of 37 megs uncompressed. When downloading my 15 meg pcf file to the remote I only have 3% free space left. End result, my pcf when downloaded to the remote is taking up just over 27 megs of that 28 megs available. Not bad all things considered.

Good luck trimming down your pcf file. At least we finally got the 32 meg upgrade. I'd love to see true support for jpeg files. (PPENG v2.0 allows you to import jpg's, but on import the editor converts them to 24-bit bitmaps.) I could trim down my fat quite a bit if I could replace all my 320x240 image files with medium rez jpeg's that actually download to the remote that way. :-(
