Greetings:

Just curious if anyone else noticed and why this is happening:

When you copy a hex into the Custom IR code box, click OK and then re-open the window, the hex has changed.

Thanks !

I've seen this too, and it sort of bugs me, as I'm not sure if the IR code scrubber is working correctly 100% of the time.

Case-in-point.

I started with a PCF file, which had the following IR code:
900B 0068 0000 0001 A857 5FA0

As soon as I press OK (not cancel), the code will be changed internally. Upon my next inspection of the IR code, it was now changed to this:
900D 0068 0000 0002 A857 5FA0 A857 5FA0

When I press OK for this code, and look at it for the third time, now it's this mess:
0000 0067 0044 0022 0152 00AD 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0573 0152 00AD 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0573 0152 00AD 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0573

Now, I'm not convinced that this is a good thing, as it seems that the software is making the IR code worse, not better.

I looked in the ConfigEdit.XML file (inside the PCF), and the code was originally:
52 0 f 6c 5 5b 44 15 16 41 40 ab 3f 7f f0 a bf f 14 10 0 10 2 10 3 10 2 12 13 2 10 2 10 3 10 2 12 13 2 12 0 12 0 10 10 0 10 10 13 10 13 f0 d

After the first change, it becomes:
55 0 f 6c 4 5b 3e 16 15 40 ac 3f 5f fc 3e 4c 44 48 48 88 88 84 84 84 88 88 84 44 44 44 48 8 bf 3e bc f2 fb 30 11 21 21 21 22 12 12 12 22 22 12 12 11 11 21 21 7c 3

And after the second change, it becomes:
76 0 f 6c 4 5b 3e 16 15 40 ac 3f 5f fc 3e 4c 44 48 48 88 88 84 84 84 88 88 84 44 44 44 48 8 bf 3e fc 3e 4c 44 48 48 88 88 84 84 84 88 88 84 44 44 44 48 8 bf 3e bc f2 fb 30 11 21 21 21 22 12 12 12 22 22 12 12 11 11 21 21 7c 3

It seems the IR code is getting longer. This isn't optimized like it's supposed to be. I'm tempted to report this to Philips as a bug, but I'm not sure if I'd be wasting my time or not.

Bit.

Is that from a Pioneer LD player? This is exactly what happens for me, though I start off with what you have listed as the first change. I found a nice pattern with the sets of characters following the A857s which helped in figuring out all the different possible speeds for the shuttle ring.
