Do I understand correctly that the RX-77 uses
RF from the RC9500 itself (not from some intermediate
IR to RF conversion)? So the firmware of the
RC9500 knows the intended path is via RF? So
it could make some change in what it sends that
the firmware programmers thought would be benefitial
for RF but in this case is harmfull.
yes, the RC9500 sends the RF signal directly to the RX77
Test #2 above sends exactly one press frame followed
by exactly one hold frame. That was a good thing
to try and I'm a little surprised the results
were so disappointing. With that version is there
still a significant difference between the way
direct IR responds and the way IR via RF responds?
with IR direct from the RC9500 the commands are very quick (has quick as the original remote, But trough the RX77 (RFmode) the commande using test#2 are very slow and seems to be miss understand
Maybe the device needs more than one hold frame
but not so many as the firmware is providing with
the original Pronto Hex. You could construct
Pronto Hex with a few of the hold frame, such
as this one with two hold frames:

Just tried, its get 3 quick "1"
Well Force Ir codes seem to be tricky
