I have been using my pronto 940 for a few years and can't live without it. I have the urge to upgrade to NG, probably a 950. My reservations are:

The touchscreen problem is worrying. Is it likely to be fixed and does it affect new 950s?

Is there a replacement for the 950 coming out soon?
Is it a pain in the **** to convert my old CCF to the new PCF? I believe the codes all have to be changed.

If I bite the bullet and go for a colour pronto, is it tedious to change all my icons to colour? Most were taken off this site so I'm hoping that colour versions will exist already.

Your advice as always is appreciated.

No. Just import your CCF and save it as PCF.

You can be sure about that. ;-)
But why not take this chance and create a complete new design?

The touchscreen problem is relatively rare. Philips is working on a solution.

New models will be announced at CEDIA next month.

No, You can convert an existing ccf to a pcf using a feature of ProtoProEdit NG.

Depends how many you have to change and how you plan to generate the color versions. If you are familiar with a program like Photoshop or Paintshop Pro, you may be able to set it up so that the conversion process is automatic. Depends on exactly what you want to do.

need? no. want? yes. But then again you would most likely want to do it with the Pronto NG it has 16 shades instead of 4
