They ae generally available in the marketplace. It is USB on one end and I believe, IEEE 1394 connection on the other end. Check the cables guys on the web or possibly even Radio Shack.

Sorry Dave, you're usually a genius at this stuff, but you missed this one. The cable for the Pronto is just one of several available types of USB cables. It has the standard size on one side for connection to the PC, but the other side can come in several different physical sizes, but all are still USB.

It's electronically the same, but the physical connecter was intended for smaller devices. I use the same cable for my Pronto that I use to download songs to my MP3 player.

Although the "device" side of the Pronto's USB cable does look very similar to a mini-IEEE 1394 (a.k.a. Firewire) cable, you'll see that the 1394 has a little extra bend in it that the USB lacks. Otherwise, they are very similar.

I believe the Philips Pronto USB Cable connector is called a "Mini B." That is the name of the connector that came with my digital camera and it works with my Pronto. You can buy these on eBay from a dozen or more suppliers for less that $5 including shipping.

I'm sure there is somebody on this forum who can give you chaper and verse on the subject of cabling.
