Considering how this is basically a color version of my black and white file, I'm not sure why I'd want to convert it to black and white again...

The channel buttons are fairly easy to do yourself - there's a PSD file in the download just for that. It has two layers, the blank background and the reflection. Just find the TV logo you want, cut it out from its background, resize appropriately, paste it in the PSD file and move to behind the reflection, then save as a PNG file.
I'm not really sure how to describe how to change the Surf buttons. You could use the TEXT tool in Photoshop to type in similar sized and colored labels and then add the slight shadow behind them (I'm sure you've noticed the selection bracket is a separate element so you only really need to create one version). One problem is some of your words are too long: "ENTERTAINMENT" and "DOCUMENTARY" will never fit in the allocated space, thus why I used only short words like "FUN" and "LEARN" - and ones slightly longer like MOVIES are pushing it.
I could whip you up KIDS, SPORTS, SHOP, NEWS and MUSIC though. Daniel that whould be much appreciated if you could, would save me a lot of time and effort. I will have a go at the channel logos myself. Thankyou once again.

Basically its because i love the way youve altered it to no longer need the home page, And the left right selection idea on each screen is nice, so in all it wasn't as daft a request as has been hinted at already, Obviously if its loads of work it isnt worth the effort. Thanks Daniel in any case i'm now trying to use your config to convince the wife to let me get a colour pronto.. lol..

Why worry about what the wife says? Do what you feel is right and let her sort out her feelings regarding it!!

It would take a lot of work to convert the color layout due to the transparency issue - and every single image uses alpha transparency. Or, if I have to come up with some other way to deal with transparencies, I would probably have to re-create about 1100 graphics from scratch (and right now I'm all graphic'd out!)
Besides for the tweaks to the top UI, the differences are mostly evolutionary refinements at any rate - the 3000 layout can work fine without a home page, or by just ignoring the Home button. I just took that concept a step further on the color layout.
And once you use a TSU7000 you'll wonder how you could ever see anything on the TSU3000! ;-)

Daniel - any chance you can post a version for the Marantz RC9500? Iknow there is apparently a work around - but I am clearly a retard as I cant get it to work!
Any help appreciated.

The workaround is listed in the FAQ, but I do not recommend the use of my file with the RC9500 until Marantz releases their next software/firmware upgrade later this year. The current firmware version does not support custom system area font colors, so the status bar at the top will be black text on a black background, and the 4 hard button labels will be black text on a dark grey background.

Hi
I've just finished a hybrid version for the RC9500 that mixes the colorised frame of Daniel's TSU3000 PCF with all the new wizzy graphics Daniels done for the 7000. This is my workaround until Marantz issue the upgrade. I'll post it to Daniel today.
Cheers Adam

Daniel - one thing that many folks may find useful, particularly those who like the font styles that you used (and either can't replicate the same nice font styles that you used or are content with bitmap manipulation), is to provide the alphabet and numbers (A-Z, 0-9) that folks can use to assemble new red labels (24-bit versions) and new yellow surf buttons to their hearts' content.

I'll be posting a new version this weekend... I've upped the number of surf categories from 5 to 15, so everything should be covered. I'll also likely just choose to upload the full 24-bit version of the file (it won't impact remote memory usage since everything is converted to 16-bit -- or obviously less -- when downloaded).
I'll also have a new micro-utility that may be useful to some folks.

I've been having LOTS of problems with modifying the labels contained in your file, because as others have noted, they just open in Photoshop as 'black and red blobs'. Interestingly enough - even the 'details' view in Windows XP Explorer shows these images correctly! Grrr photoshop ;)

Just downloaded version 1.0.3 of Daniel's PCF. Labels can now be opened okay in Photoshop. Thanks, Daniel!

Thanks Daniel. Once again, everyone here owes you, even if they don't realize it.

Glad things are editable now - it was a surprise to heat that PPENG was converting those images into such an obscure format. Although I'm even more surprised that Photoshop doesn't support the full PNG specification!
