PPENG will not accept IR codes either by copy and paste or from a remote. I bought a new tv and when I try to delete old code (toshiba) and install new code (hitachi) the old code is still there. Please help, thanks Dave

Check the system properties and see if the Write Protected checkbox is selected. This problem has never been reported so this is just a suggestion of something to try.

Exactly what are you doing when you "try to delete old code (toshiba) and install new code (hitachi) ".
If you are running the old PPENG, you need to be in Advanced mode. You should also upgrade to the new version if you haven't already done so.

I do have the new version installed. Never had this trouble with the old. When trying to program the watch tv button, first I delete the toshiba tv "on" code. Then I click on the add IR button, select custom IR code, paste the code for the hitachi "on", select ok. Thats when code for the hitachi "on" disapears and the old code the for the toshiba "on" reapears. Dave

Ok,maybe this will help someone to solve my problem. Connected my 7000 to my computer to try and test some of the ir codes which failed. It kept telling me connection with the device failed Please retry (0030). Then after several retrys I decided to try and upload the config from the 7000 and received the message "The connected device is not supported by PPENG" Thanks for any help

I had exactly the same issue and after talking with the Philips repair center they concluded that the device was faulty. They replaced my Pronto but I still have exactly the same problems. Any ideas?

Pattad, you would be better off starting a new thread rather than add to an existing thread that is not very current, when the original subject line is not realated to your problem.
When you get communications problems, this usually works: - disconnect Pronto from PC - reset your Pronto - reboot your PC - connect Pronto to PC
You may also need to download a fresh copy of the firmware.
And make sure you have the latest version of both PPENG and the firmware.

Peter: thanks, I'll start a new thread. I tried all those steps (although I can't install new firmware because the device won't communicate with my PC) + got Philips to replace the device and I still have problems.

Yes I downloaded a fresh copy of the latest version of both firmware and software and reset the pronto. It now works fine.
