Not as long as you are gentle but the stylus should accomplish the same thing. Try moving a few pixels away from the target, sometimes that helps.

Its been approx 3 months since I received my 2 new ProntoPro NG 3000 remotes from Belgium and they are still working GREAT ! It will be interesting to see whether or not they crap out in 2 years from when I programed them, like my originals. (If I haven't gone to something else by then that is.)

FYI

Have an RU950 whose hard buttons have stopped working - well, intermittently at least, and certainly not for long enough to be of any use. Anyone else had this problem? If you shake it some of them randomly come back to life. Nothing "rattles" when the unit is shaken.

The unit is under warranty so should be replaced by Philips, so this (currently!) is just FYI.

trustworthy,

I believe your issue is different from the one covered by this thread. All (most?) of us here have had to deal with "soft" buttons, not "hard" buttons. This thread is all about unresponsive LCD touch screens.

Good luck with your warranty.

Just took a new RU950 out of the box, this unit has been few years unused in original package and had this touchscreen problem.

No touch screen response, after firmware upgrade calibration fails after pressing third point. (upper right corner)

...no help from trying to clean/push connection on display.

So I have this problem too, but it look like Philips never responded. Is this whole thing dead? How did you get Philips to replace yours?
Here is my serial if it matters:

Add me to the list too.... Some time ago Philips said they would announce a solution for in and out of warranty units. This is really not right. Anyone have any information they can share about what is happening with this issue?

Thanks

I had the very same problem in my 6000, oddly enough I was fidling with it and noticed that the white wire connected to the battery pack, diode between ground and white wire, was loose and looked like a cold soldier. Now when i took the battery pack off and repaired it . . everything worked . . maybe taking the battery loose and then reinstalling fixed it not the cold soldier . . i will keep you updated. . .

I haven't had a single problem since I put the replacement remote I was sent by Phillips into a cupboard.

Harmony 880 has been such a hit with the family (they hated
the TSU3000) that I've been thinking of using the Phillips as a
plant pot stand - but it isn't even good enough for that 'cos it
isn't flat enough and would probably leak...

My 3000 has gone out of calibration several times during the past 2 months. Now it refuses to calibrate altogether. The process fails at the third touch. I've tried reverting to original software/firmware. No change. Serial #3104 207 13411.
Anyone with some clue?

Siiter,

You've hit the same dead end as so many of us have. Can't swear your problem is the same, but symptoms are pretty similar.

Only advice is, depending on how old your unit is, to contact Philips and escalate.
