Greetings,

I just replaced my old first generation Pronto with a new TSU3000 and I'm working on building a new config using PENG. One thing I've noted is that sometimes when I add a link to a button, such as a power off button on a "system power" page linked to the device's power button, that link doesn't work - i.e. pressing the button has no effect.
The button linked to works perfectly though.
Are there any known issues with links in the PENG software?

regards,
P O Litby

There are no known issues with links, provided you are using the latest firmware/software.

There have also been times when people have had multiple copies of a button on a page and the button with the link was not actually the button being pressed.

I am using the latest firmware and PENG software. I've also checked for multiple buttons on top of each other and that's not it. All the link definitions are correct (i.e. not pointing to the wrong target as has been discussed in other posts). I have not made any changes to the system pages.
I deleted all the non-functioning link buttons, replaced them with new ones, and that made *some* of them work, but not all.
Also copied one of the functioning ones to make new buttons (changed the link obviously) but that doesn't fix it either.
Why would some links work but not others, when the buttons are either completely new or copied from working ones?
Could my pcf have been corrupted somehow?

It's possible. I have never experienced this problem. You might try opening a NEW configuration and merging your current file with it. This will give you a new system page and is usually the cure for a corrupt pcf.

Tried the new-merge option, but there is no difference. Strangest thing is, I have 2 buttons beside each other, both with links to the same device (on/off for a receiver) and one works but the other one does not.
Also tried building a whole new page, but the problem remains!

I have the same Problem!

A perfect working pcf suddenly started to make problems on only a few ( but always the same few) Page-Flip-Buttons, but that stayed that way even after upgrading my firmware, reloading the file etc. When i merge the file into a new one it seems to be better, but then i have two home pages... and i don't want to move my devices to the new one...

Any Solutions known???

If somebody out there is willing to help me fast (i'm in pressure by the client), i'd be glad!

thanx,
Chribe from Switzerland/Europe

Interestingly (but not a solution for the original poster) the latest version of PENG V2, seems to know when you have two buttons on top of each other. It will not let you create a code in that button or link to that button. It just goes to a blank properties page.

I had this occur yesterday, when I was working on a numeric pad which had two "0" .png's on top of each other. When it happened more than once, I was puzzled until I dragged the top button away to notice there were two. Once I did this, it would take a code or a link.

I suspect there may be certain conditions where PPENG v2 will do this but I saw it with my own eyes....LOL!

Undocumented feature????

Ok, to try and help the original posters, after my last post:

Can we assume you have not created some kind of odd circular-reference, with the buttons that do not work? Such as linking to a macro that might link back to the original, or something similar? I am grasping at straws here...

Strange thing, is it hardware or software? My page-jump-no-more-working-problem seems to be known here...

[Link: remotecentral.com]

...but not at philips service. Since days or even weeks i'm trying hard to fix it, but without result.

Things that didn't help:
several firmware updates to the actual version 3.6.7
re- rere- and rerere-installation of PENG2,1,1,0
recreation of jumps and links
moving buttons to prevent them being among each other
recreation of whole buttons
recreation of the whole page
merging into a new file
changing the system page
...
and that again and again in different orders

what i've not tried that far:

throwing the pronto out of the window
kill the client that is mocking
or offer him another system (it's already been a miracle that he finally took the pronto...)

Has anyone any ideas or at least a slight attempt of a suspicion why this keeps on killing my nerves?

PLEASE!!

Thanx a lot

what i just discovered: when i press one of those randomly working jump-buttons, the pronto seems to hang and i cannot operate another one. When the display goes out (screensaver), it's all ok again.

sometimes when the buttons work, i have to press them quite long until they react. or they refuse to work again, then the page hangs again until next lcd off...

and so the game goes on and on and on, regardlessly of any changes...

As nobody had an idea, i finally got to know that the new version of PENG (v2,1,1,0) has a known bug there, and the customer service told me to try downgrading. That's what i will do next, hopefully there's a solution soon.
