I'm dying here... My buddy told me that a Phillips Pronto would simplify my life. That was 2 months ago and now I am considering enrolling at ITT Tech for an IT degree.
I have searched high and low and cannot find the "power on", "power off", "input 1", and "input 2" discrete codes for my Toshiba 36A50 TV.
If anyone can help in any way I will imediately return the favor by shipping you two boxloads of neatly stacked Iraqi currency.

You wont have any luck with discretes for that tv, its a TOAD. No work arounds for power, but for the input macro, Use channel + then input for input 1, and channel + then input and input again for input 2.

Actually, I have some codes that should work for Inputs 1 & 2 (can't help you with Power on or off). They work with my TW56X81 and they worked with a friends 36" Toshiba.
I'll try to post them tonight when I get home from work.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll ship those bills right out.
Does anyone have any other ideas on the power? My tuner, Denon 1803 (I think) does have a switched power outlet on the back. Is it a bad idea to plug it into the reciver? I do have a cooling fan blowing into the reciever.
Many Thanks.

For Video 1, just use Vid 1
For Video 2, just use Vid 2
For Video 3, setup a macro executing Vid 1 and Source X2 with no delay between the two links
For HD1, setup a macro executing Vid 2 and Source X2 with no delay between the two links
For HD2, setup a macro executing Vid 2 and Source X3 with no delay between the two links
The combination codes don’t work correctly 100% of the time (more like 95%), but it’s better than anything that I have been able to find. From testing, I found I have a better rate of success using Vid 2 + Source X2 for HD1 than Vid 1 + Source X3
I didn’t have anything to do with these codes, I found them somewhere on Remote Central (but I don’t remember where they came from, so I can’t give appropriate credit).

Has anyone has any luck with Toshiba TW56X81 post firmware upgrade? I've been reading like crazy and it looks like the .1 sec delay doesn't solve issue on this TV.
Thanks, Todd

mikoo,
When you cannot find all of the discrete codes you would like, consider creating an "Activity-based" config, in which you ask the user:
What do you want to do?" and "What is on Now?"
Those two questions will allow you to trap the exact info you need to pass to your equipment. It is a bit of a lengthy config, but it will get help you get by the lack of discrete codes and will help those in your household setup all of your home theater equip, without really knowing much about how to do it.
