Hey all, I just purchased a TSU7000. The remote works fine until I try to hook it up to the PC. I installed the newest Pronto Pro NG Edit (3.4.16). It recognizes the Pronto in device manager upon the first reboot. As soon as I try to upload, download, update the firmware, I hear a chime like its being disconected, then the remote resets itself and it gives me an error that it cant find the remote.

I reinstalled the software a dozen times, and rebooted a billion times. I also searched the forums for a while and couldnt come up with anything. I am getting really frustrated. I really dont want to throw this $700 remote accross the room.

Thanks in advance.

Are you plugging it into a USB hub? I remember some threads talking about the need to plug it directly into a USB port.

Don't return it! Once you get it all connected and start working on designing your configuration, you'll be hooked like the rest of us.

I am not plugged into a USB hub. I tried every USB port on my computer. Still got nothing.

I really would love to keep this remote but i'm getting frustrated. I called Philips support, waited on hold for 45 minutes. All I got was them flipping through thier book, reciting the owners manual. Grrrrrr.

Please help!!!!

The remote must NOT be connected to the PC during install of PPENG software. Disconnect remote, uninstall software, install software, reconnect the remote. I did have a few issues when doing the latest firmware update, but only while updating.

It wasnt connected to the PC while installing. I've tried everything. It's going back if I get no more suggestions. I've never had such problems with such an expensive electronic device.

If all else fails, get me a System Info report. I can forward this kind of information to the Pronto Team.

Email me with the report.

Start->Run msinfo32.exe [OK].

Under Components, you get a listing of recognized USB devices as well. You can also see any conflicts under Hardware Resources.
