Well I've started programming my RU980 but am I being stupid or am I missing something - surely there should be a manual or user guide for ProntoProEdit NG? The manual that comes with it is the same as on the CD and is just the 70 page guide to using the remote itself - nothing on explaining ProntoProEdit and how to use it. I am picking up a lot from this forum and the files people have helpfully uploaded but surely Philips should be providing a decent instruction guide. The help file isn't much help either. Am I living in the past as I like having a decent reference book. Has anyone else published a Dummy's Guide or similar?

Or download the ProntoEdit or TouchScreenSetup User guide from the Pronto Files section. ProntoEdit is similar enough to the NG software that you should then have some idea of what to do.

The online help is actually good, but it can take time to find the information you need.
You should also read the FAQ here - it has lots of useful information.
