I'd like to find a way to press a screen icon/button on the TSU7000 and each press would be a different behavior. The way I see this working would be to have a TV channel button, like 'PBS', and each press would switch to one of the 3 (or more) PBS stations. This button would be on a page with other TV station buttons, so I don't really want to create multiple, similar pages to jump to on each press of the PBS station button. There might be other TV stations that I would want to do this to eventually, so the multipage option wouldn't really scale anyway. I hope that makes some sort of sence.s

On the Pioneer plasma I could do this using one of the 4 'favorites' buttons, but I'd prefer to do this on the Pronto.

Has anyone else been able to figure out a way to do this, or is it pretty much impossible?

thanks

You basically have to design sets of panels that look the same but the PBS button on Page 1 selects station #1 then jumps to Page #2 that contains PBS button #2. When Button #2 is pressed, it selects station #2 and jumpst to Page #3. and so on, and so on.

What you end up with is many, many permutations of pages. Unless you are gonna put only a single channel button on the screen, it probably does not make sense to try to accomplish your goal as there is NO easy way to do this.

Thanks for the confirmation, that's kind of what I figured, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Maybe this could be a future feature request? ;)

I can work around using the 'favorites' feature from the TV's tuner for now.

Maybe I am being selfish here, but WAY ahead of that feature, I would rather have the remotes able to learn all codes and have the software work perfectly.

Why is this important enough to ask for the design team to modify the product's firmware and software, when you can work around it, you can put three different PBS buttons on a page, and I have never heard anybody ever ask for anything remotely like this before?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Well, this thread is supposed to be for a new feature/request. Although I could do 3 seperate buttons, or leverage my displays own feature of favorites, that's not really the point. I'm suggesting something I think would be helpful, to me and others.

Product stability is a basic operational expectation. It's not selfish to put that on top of a list, but it's not a feature request. If you have stability problems, that's a bug and should be fixed in parallel to any new feature development. As it happens, I haven't had any real stability issues in either PPENG or the remote itself. Perhaps your configuration is very complex, in which case, the Philips scaling testers aren't doing their job. If I were you, I'd send your unstable config file to them or others and see if they have similar problems.

When in doubt, reflash

If your using a NG pronto remote the editing software allows you to copy paste all... the process in which was described above isn't that complicated. Just do EDIT select all, then open a new page, paste, then modify the one button under properties... it's not very complicated... It will use a bit of memory, but I've yet to come close to running out on my TSU 3000.
