First,

Thanks to all on this forum. Reading everyone's Q&As gave me the guts to work on upgrading the pcf in my 3000. (Was custom programmed by installer) I have worked quite a bit on my version 2. Last night I finally had the guts to try it out. Error occurred during download and my Pronto locked with the message that memory was corrupt. Thanks to all the info here, I didn't panic. Reloaded the firmware and everything went fine. Thanks to all for my new hobby.

Now,

I'm wondering if I can use my Pronto with both RF and IR. My theater setup uses RF. I'd like to add a few panels to control my low end (but far more complicated to use) TV/Audio system in another room. Can I have one small section of a pcf sending IR, and my main theater area of the pcf sending RF?

Thanks,
Sail

Absolutely! I use both RF and IR. At the device level properties you control whether its RF or IR. You just have to make sure all the pages/codes under that device use the same IR or RF you selected on the device properties.
