Ok, I'm reading The Ultimate Pronto guide for my new TSU 7000. I like the idea of keeping my IR codes in one safe location then linking to them with different configs. My question is: How can I find/copy my IR codes if I used the built in codes that came with my Pronto for my equipment instead of "learning" them?

Same as if you learned them. The internal database codes would be put into IR buttons, in your Ir Codes Device and linked normally.

Problem is you cannot see the actual hex codes, when you use a built-in database code. You should be able to move them and copy them with the exception that you cannot "paste" a database code into a button, like you would with a learned code, in which you can view the hex code.

Hope this answers your question.

Ah, So your saying just copy and paste the buttons with the built in database codes I want into one safe unseen page then link the buttons I'll use to it. Same as the learned codes but I won't ever see the hex code. Is that it?

I think he is saying that if you use a data base code, you will NOT be able to actually see the hex code. But, if it is a learned IR signal that you inputed directly from another remote control into the pronto, you WILL be able to see the actual hex code, and actually be able to copy and paste the actual code.

If you are going to use the internal database codes:
- create a button on your unseen page
- select a database code to use on that button
- link buttons in your "seen" pages to these buttons

Then, in the future. if you get some new equipment for which you cannot use the internal database, yuo can simply change the internal code to a learned code.

You can't double-click on the name of the code in the window that shows the commands? Sorry, but I can't recollect the exact name of the window, but it is the one that you get when you double-click on a button and look at the commands; where you could alias, or add a jump....

I thought you could double-click on the command, and then a window would open that would show give you the option of viewing the code.

Thanks.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie, you cannot see the hex code for internal database codes.
