I have been using the delay trick successfully for many months, however, I have recently added an RF extender to a few new installs and am having problems with this trick for a device set for RF. It seems to be only with the hard keys, (having to press and hold instead of a short tap). I have tried to attach the IR comand with delay to the key, and I have also tried aliasing a hidden button with the comand an delay attached to it. The latter was the trick I used back when I had problems learning a comand to the D-Pad before the last upgrade.

Has any one else experienced this and been able to improve results?

Thanks,
Rich

What brand and model of remote are you talking about?

What is the delay trick, and what does it solve?

What is a D-Pad?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The remote would be a TSU-3000 in conjunction with the RF extender.

The delay trick is the workaround for a bug that appeared after the last firmware upgrade that caused a lot of ir comands to stop working with a simple, short tap of the button. Instead, one would have to press and hold the button in order for the equipment to respond. By adding a short delay in front of the comand IR, creating a macro, a short tap would again work. Many, many posts about this but none that I could find relating to setting a device to RF mode.

Directional-Pad.
