I have the 3000 remote, just for information.

I finally got my Sony CDPCX455 working correctly with SNL, but I had to make a few changes as the 455 seems to access tracks differently. The 455 only seems to access tracks over 10 correctly when the >10 key is used. At least that has been my experience! Also, ENTER after track selection does not work properly as my player seems to skip to the next disc with that. By the way, the Sony CDPCX355 works fine under codeset 3 with no changes.

To address this I made a couple of changes to the IR page under the codeset 1 design page and everything works fine now. As I had to make room for a >10 IR code without changing the methodology that the software generates to access the disc and tracks, I assigned the +10 function under my player setup in SNL to the Jump key. Then inside prontoedit, I deleted the IR code under codeset 1 jump and replaced it with a learned IR from my remote for >10. I also deleted the IR code from under the after track "enter" as that was causing problems. Now the 455 access disc and tracks properly although I am sure I have lost some functionality that I had not discovered yet in the migration bridge jump. Is there a better way to address this problem?

Also, it takes my computer ~10 minutes to load my PCF file to edit. I have a P4-1.3Ghz with 256Mb of ram and am currently running ME although I am upgrading to XP SP2 by next week. I loaded my PCF on an XP computer recently, with more ram, and it came up in seconds. Is my computer really not fast enough to run this software with a large PCF or is that a difference between ME and XP? Yes, I know I could use more RAM, but does it really take that to run this software effectively?

Thank you so much, and I am also in for the $20 for a PCF version of the SNL software for the 3000. I still need to play around more with SNL to learn all the options, but I think I finally have the hang of the basics. It is running my two changers very well, and I hope to try mp3 cds in the 455 changer next - if that does not generate too many remote pages.

Thanks again,

Michael

Michael,

First off, please post support questions to the Pronto Forum's SNL support thread.

Yes, a change to Win XP will help. The issue is not the # of images in the PCF, but rather the size of the Action Lists. On my 2.4GHz with 512MB of RAM, it still takes me almost 2-3 minutes to load a PCF containing 3 lists with almost 2300 Disc entries, some which include Track Info.

With regard to Track Selection on the 455, does the discrete IR code for 'Track' not work? If it's not in my SNL Migration CCF, it is definitely in my Sony CD Changer CCF available in the Pronto Files Section.

Here's what I typically did on my CX400 (replaced with MP3 Media Server and Streamzap remote) to address Track Issues.

Before Disc = Sony Discrete IR for Disc
After Disc = Enter
Before Track = Sony Discrete IR for Track
After Track = Enter

Anytime that the >10 button is used for track, the presumption is that Enter is not required, but there is no way to my knowledge in current SNL, to issue >10 multiple times, to select track 23, per se.

Also, ensure that you are not using 'Delay Disc Until Track Selection' and 'Don't Use After Disc if Tracks Present'.

Please let me know where you stand on getting all this working.

FYI, you may want to check out ebay this week for a Sony CDP CX400. I also have a CX400 not being used at the moment. If you are interested, email me.
