Hi to all happy new year,

I have had enough with my rechargable AAA bats in my TSU 3000..... I know I should have bought the dock but I am a little low on funds right now.

Every week or so I have to recharge them and they are 800ma ones. I still wonder why philips did not use AA bats. The annoying thing is the weekly recharge and the necessity to set the clock every time aswell. Why didnt philips use a backup battery for the clock???? (so that we buy the dock I know!!!)

Anyway I am thinking.... if you take the battery holder out it just about fits AA bats now I am thinking of cutting away at various plastic bits of the casing (not the sliding cover mind you) to ensure I will fit my Sanyo 2300 mah rechargable AA bats. I wont save my having to reset the clock everytime but it will last longer in between.

Has anyone done this? Any insights? Has anyone opened the case and seen if it is possible to cut away some of the plastic without damaging the insides?

Thanks in advance

Alex

Buy the docking station, you will be happier. However the batteries that come with the docking station are only about 500-600 mAh. I have 900 mAh rechargable battery packs on my web site.

If you find you can't cut your pronto, go to Philips' outlet site. That is where I got my docking station. Good price, works fine.

Thanks for the replies

I will probably buy a dock eventually but as I said the price issue is still on my mind. I am trying to find a cheaper way out of my predicament. Has anyone got knowledge of the inside of the TSU 3000 (with regards to my original question above)??

Good luck with that, but I think it's a mistake. You paid 250 to 400 for a remote. You will void any warranty you have if you do that, and will more than likely be unhappy with it. If I were you, I'd either live with the batteries the way they are, buy rechargable with a higher mAh rating with their own charger, or buy a rechargable battery and docking stand.

The weight of AA-Cells is to high for easy handle!
I heaved change my AA-Cell battery-pack from my old RU940 to an AAA-Cell Pack, at this time, my RU 940 was very better to handle. (900 mah self-made battery-pack for TSU 7000 I used)
