I recently got a TSU3000 (I previously had a 2000) and am having big problems getting it to work with my Dish DVR510 receiver. If I use the built in code or learn the codes from the remote tapping a key does not cause a function to happen (any function), I have to hold the button down for a little bit to get it to be seen, most of the time. Once in a great while a single tap will be recognized. This works for the screen buttons, but the hard buttons only send out 1 code when you press and hold down, sometimes. I haven't worked out the algorithm for the hard buttons (sometimes they send out single, sometimes repeating, its very frustrating to use.
I tried making two links to the code in the action list, but then it does the function twice, which is kind of bad for channel up and down and menu keys. If I just have one link in the list and tap the key, then tap it again a second or so later it ses that as one push (ie it goes up one channel) but when I do that in the action list with a delay between code I have to put a long delay in there which makes using the system very difficult to use because you have to wait a long time to see the response after each key press.
The remote that comes with it makes this work somehow, you press a key and it almost immediately does one function (say up one channel) not two or none, so it CAN be done, I just haven't figured out how to make it work with the TSU3000.
BTW the TSU2000 has the same issue BUT all the keys let you press and givea slight hold which does work, you just need a little practice to use it. With theTSU3000 not doing press and hold on some keys sometimes, its very frustrating to use.
Is there something I can do to the codes themselves to make them "longer", or send parts twice, but not such that is sees it as two pushes?
Is there some file here that goes into the technical details of the codes so I might have a chance of modifying them?
Thanks for any help with this,
John S.
