I am thinking of buying a pronto RU950 as I got a URC-9990 for xmas and to put it simply its cr#p and the one for all customer service is at best terrible! So I decided to get a proper touch screen remote.

The only problem I can see with getting the remote is not being able to control my laptop with it, I have an ATI remote wonder 1 which works using RF (I have tried IR remotes on my PC but found them all unreliable). I know its possible to control RF equipment with a pronto and I have done extensive research into it finding Dave Houston's site a valuable source of information.

However I wondered if any other users of pronto's had successfully got them to work with the Remote Wonder receiver? Also if there was any alternative to the Wave2CCF converter (which has been withdrawn) as I cant seem to find anything and it seems the only (easy) way to convert the captured signals to a usable code? And finally with the remote wonder there seems to be three signals coming from one button press, a down, an up and a held down, I assume this is software based, as the transmission of three codes on one press seems a bit strange, am I correct in assuming this? I hope so or it complicates matters even further!!!

I realize the RF transmission has been discussed a lot I have read every thread but haven't found the information I need so I hope someone can help :)

Thanks

I heaved sell an OEM version from ATI's remote at EBay. Now I wait for deliver to me.
I hope, I have it at the next weekend, so I can give you the answer.
The tool wave2ccf work fine, if you use a good RF-RX module is connected to you're soundcard. The better way for me is a special RF2IR converter to learn any RF signals with my tsu [email protected] MHz.

Are you sure, that ATI use 433,92 MHz?

Yes it does use 433.92MHz, the European ones do anyway (mine was bought in the UK), they actually use the name Sapphire instead of ATI even though the product is exactly the same.

My medion RF-Remote (X10) is now learned in my RU980, and work fine. I use 'girder' to control my PC over the Pronto.

Cheers for getting back to me, one more question though... how did learn the codes to your RU980?

I cant think of any way to get the codes to my remote, any suggestions?

Thanks

With a RF2IR converter 'Lernhilfe' from Exclusive-Home in Germany is that no problem. The Pronto has a very better RF-Range as the medion X10 PC-remote. The RF-Receiver look identical then ATI, but the remote self has more keys than ATI Wonder.
