John, post 7 on page one starts out with:
desc=xena1501 type=ir group=aston carrier=42500.000000 repeat=1 pause=-0 sleep=-87400 zero=500 -500 one=500 -1700 start=8900 -4500 stop=44400.0 8900.0 -2300.0 500.0 -12800.0 -87400.0 prefix= suffix= 010000010000101001010011101011001:power
It's the
carrier=42500.000000 repeat=1
that I focused on belatedly. This is a PC based IR controller that controls CE gear but principally used to control Sony CD Jukeboxes. So in looking at the sLinke setup file I didn't see any differentiation for a one time and repeat segment. I agree that in any OEM remote or learned command from a regular remote, that you would not be likely to see anything but the null repeat frame, repeat. But in this case he learned it, and it wasn't learned well but if you actually multiply by the "wrong" wavelength times the burst lengths in wavelengths, you get a pretty normal signal for the first segment and clearly a second data frame that still has the total bit times correct but very short on times. So, my most educated guess is that it repeats the entire pattern once.

ok so - after someone mentioned that one of my codes was a minidisc code i started thinking about using new codes altogether and just for the heck of it i recreated my avswitcher.cde file with ezlearn and used the vcr remote on vtr2 mode (i rarely use my vcr and when i do it is on vtr3 mode)
so i learned the codes from the vcr remote into the avswitcher box. then i learned the codes into my cde file and imported the settings from the sony vcr cde found in c:\program files\nirvis\device files\sony. then i learned the codes again from the vcr remote to the pronto.
and it all seems to work. dvdlobby can still control the avswitcher via the slinke and i can also easily switch inputs on the avswitcher from the pronto.
although it turned out to be much simpler than i imagined in the beginning, i appreciate everyone's help and would not have figured it out without you all. RC is awesome!
