Hi guys. My folks got a TSU 7000 for Christmas and after reading through the manual I wanted to check out the ProEdit software. In my haste to see some of its capabilities, I managed to download the default fancy .pcf rather than upload the existing one into the ProEdit software to make changes, thus erasing all the work that the installer had put into configuring the remote. Yes, brilliant I know. After drinking my weight in Fat Tire amber ale, I have decided to try to correct my error. My folks are not the most tech-savvy in the world, so I don't need much in the way of a user interface. Just a couple of macros for watching cable, a DVD or listening to music and some easy to understand controls. I have conceded that I won't be able to replicate the favorites menu for channels in their cable viewing area (greater Phoenix area) , as I have no clue as to where the guy got all of that stuff. I leave tomorrow and there's no way they can do this all by themselves. Well, they could, but I hate to think of them spending what's left of their advancing years muttering about "..this infernal device!" So here's what they've got:

Display - Pioneer Elite PRO 1000 HD (it came with the house)
Cable - Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250 HD
DVD - Sony NS315
Receiver - Pioneer Elite VSX 52 TX

I'm confident that I can read through some of the doc for the software and in the user guide but where's the best place to start here? I guess I can go with the preset controls for the components as they show up in the database and pare them down as necessary. If you guys happen to know of a couple of things to look for that might save me some time I would really appreciate it. I have already said fudge a million times and if I can't get this done before I take off tomorrow, well... Daddy's gonna kill Ralphie.

Thanks for your help. This site looks to be extraordinarily informative, even after only looking at it for a short while. Happy Holidays. I'm a knucklehead.
Good talk Russ.

You're not sol, even with the default configuration. Read the manual and you can scan the devices with the remote for ir code assignment.

All of our fancy programming is done with the aid of the software, and your installer should have a backup of the file. Downloading it to the Pronto is as easy as 1 - 2 - 3. So even if you are not there for them to put it back on, with a few instructions they should have no problem.
